Racing Ski

Racing Ski is one of the most popular Winter Sports in Greece. There are three types of racing ski in Greece: Alpine Ski, Classic or Nordic Ski, and the Freestyle Ski. In Alpine Ski, the participants go down the hill-side with great speed. The skiers use ‘sandals’ which are not more than 2 meters of length. In Classic Ski, there is a contest of big distance jumps from the starting block. The skiers use ‘skis’ which have a length of 2.6 meters. The Freestyle Ski is the combination of acrobatic jumps and figures.

Snowboard

This type of the sport is a combination of speed, acrobatic figures, and spectacular jumps. Snowboard was included in the Olympic games in 1998. There are different types of Snowboard: Slalom and Giant Slalom, Parallel and Giant Parallel Slalom, Super G, Halfpipe, Snowboard Cross etc.
